The Disaster of the Gladden Fields was more of a massacre than a true battle. The Company of Isildur, marching home after the defeat of Sauron, were ambushed by Orcs and all save three of the company were slain. The Shards of Narsil, the sword of Elendil, were saved, though Isildur was slain and the Ring lost in the marshes of the Gladden Fields.
