Stone-trolls were Trolls found only in the region of Eriador. They were the most human of all trolls, and could speak a form of Westron. Bert, Tom, and William that Bilbo encountered on his journey were Stone-trolls. Stone-trolls would turn to stone if exposed to sunlight.
